He was predeceased by : his parents, Fredrick Sailer and Emma Sailer (Maas); and his siblings, Frieda Heine, Elsie Rathjen, Edna Neuberger, Bernice Huff, Edmar, Reuben, Oscar, Oswald, Eldor, Emil and Levi.

He is survived by : his wife Frieda Wiedrich of Stanton; his children, Carlyle (Jane) of Hazen, Keith of Reno, NV, Alana DeHaven (Terry) of Stanton, VerDean of Stanton and Darcy (Shelly) of Stanton; and his sister Darlene Kilber of Bismarck, ND. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sakakawea Hospice, Hazen.
