He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Mayers and Frieda Mayers; his wife Lorene Brevik; his children, Larry Mayers and Caryn Polley; his grandchildren, Jody Hilmer, Tara Lynch and Kristin Langenfeld; his son-in-law Alvin Leiss; and his siblings, Richard, Vincent, James, Herald Edwin, Adeline, Lorraine, Lydia, Francis and Evelyn.

He is survived by : his children, Cheryl Lynch of Grand Forks, ND, Cathy Leiss of Dickinson, ND, Connie Dreyer (Russell) of Brainerd, MN, Steven Mayers of Dickinson, ND, David Mayers of Buxton, ND and Daniel Mayers (Debra) of Thompson, ND; his son-in-law John Polley; and his sister Betty Lombness of Michigan. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and 10 step-great grandchildren.
