It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Kappel (Valley City, North Dakota), born in McVille, North Dakota, who passed away on April 16, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Schmeck and Ida Schmeck (Pederson); her husband Paul Kappel of Oriska, ND.; her daughter-in-law Carol Kappel (Gary); and her sisters, Ila Vey Kickertz of Chaffee, ND, Lucille Brorby of Moorhead, MN and Estelle Dorothy.
She is survived by: her children, Gary of Pella, IA, Diane Heydel (Tom) of Waukesha, WI, Carol Satariano (Sam) of New Berlin, WI and James of Jamestown, ND. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Buffalo Cemetery.
