She was predeceased by : her parents, Henry Lurz and Francis Lurz (Ward); her siblings, Clara and Richard; and her siblings-in-law, Gene Waits, Francis Bejot and Elaine Waits.

She is survived by : her husband Les Waits of Ainsworth; her daughters, Vicki Krueger (John) of Central City and Mary Beel (Henry) of Johnstown; her grandchildren, Taylor Wall (Whitney) of Clarks, Maci Wall of Central City, Henry K, Hannah and Holden Beel of Johnstown; her brothers, Jim Lurz (Iodine) of Ainsworth and Hank Lurz (Mimi) of Greensboro; her sisters-in-law, Melba Bejot of Ainsworth and Pam Lurz of Norfolk; and her nephews, Brad Waits of Wood Lake and Bart Waits of Ainsworth. She is also survived by other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Sandhills Care Center Resident Enrichment Program in Norma's name.
