She was predeceased by : her former life partner Gerald Sell; and her siblings, Leonard, Dillard, Lucille John, Florene Gould, Freda John and Kenneth Hunt.

She is survived by : her husband Carl Mendyk of Loup City; her sons, Roderick Sell, Tammy Kelly of Burwell, Martin Sell, Lisa Sell of Arcadia and Scott Sell of Loup City; her stepchildren, Nick Mendyk, Donna Mendyk of Ashton, Shelly Mendyk of Lincoln, Brenda Yelkin, Mark Dickey of Doniphan, Lynette Wroblewski, Rodney Wroblewski of Lincoln, Scott Mendyk and Marie Mendyk of Kearney; and her sister-in-law Hollis Hunt of Arcadia. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

On September 28, 2016, Alberta became a resident of Rose Lane Home in Loup City due to the onset of Alzheimer's.
