He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bud" Gassen and Marie Gassen (Tlustos); his children, Jason and Landee; his sisters, Dianne Vedral and Nancy Ekroth; and his nephew Brian Ekroth.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Miner of Bellwood, NE; his children, Jeff (Ranee), TJ Gassen (Laura) of Columbus, NE and Jed Gassen (Kimberly) of Columbus, NE.; his grandchildren, Brianna, Bethany, Gabriel, Emilia, Savannah, Henry Gassen, Matthew Wills, Noah, Grace and Joshua Gassen; and his siblings, Matt, Kelly and Peggy Cassidy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
In lieu of plants and flowers, donations may be made to Sammy's Superheroes, the Gregory Hope Project, or the Gregory County Food Bank.
