He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence McKinnis and Ruth McKinnis (Marr); his sister Lorraine (Gwen); and his children, Danny and Lori.
He is survived by: his wife Gwen Sass; his siblings, Hazel Adams and Leroy McKinnis; his sisters-in-law, Lucille Ryan and Wanda Sass; his children, Lana Thompson (Pat) and Dave McKinnis (Kathy); and his son-in-law Tim Svendgard. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
