As we bid Charles farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Charles is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Athey and Merna Athey (Johnson); and his daughter Denise. He is survived by: his wife Lois Snow; and his sons, David (Bonnie Athey), Dean (Carolyn Athey) and Paul (Susan Athey).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (2710 14th St, Columbus, NE 68601). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wyuka Cemetery (3600 O St, Lincoln, NE 68510).
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation .
