He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Ralph, Blanche Specht, Anton and Edna Bongers; his uncle Craig Melliger; and his aunt Carol Bongers.

He is survived by : his parents, David and Lennis of Howells; his siblings, Terri Stuelpnagel of Halsey, NE, Roxannie Payne (Edwin) of Dunning, NE and David Specht Jr. of Broken Bow, NE; his nieces and nephews, Mikael Jr. Stuelpnagel (Michelle), Gary Payne (Renee), Kasondra Harris (Josh) and Amanda Payne; his great-nephews, Jakob, LeRoy and Gareth Payne; and his aunts and uncles, Arden Specht (Susan), Arlys Pacas (Jerry), Gaylen Specht (Shari), Carol Harris (Michael), Judy Melliger, Katherine Bongers and Dennis Bongers (Sylvia).
