He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Henry Welsh and Elsie Welsh (Ivers); his wife Sharon Packard of Arthur; his son Paul; his brothers, Don and Rex; his son Michael Welsh (Susan); his grandchildren, Heather Welsh (Anthony) and Daniel Welsh (Danielle); his great grandchildren, Noah, Kaydence, Amber Welsh, Thaddeus, Gabrielle and Sabastian Erington; his sister Jean Elmshaeuser (Norvin); and his brother-in-law Gerry Packard (Sondra). He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and numerous family members and friends.

A memorial has been established in Willie's memory for later designation.
