He was predeceased by : his parents, Alta "Merle" Lichtenberger (Townsend) and Howard Lichtenberger; his great grandchild Cash Bell; and his siblings, Roe, Ross, Robert, Ralph, Shirley Munsterman, Coral Schroder and Faye.

He is survived by : his wife Byrtilla of Fairbury, NE; his daughters, Rose Bergerson (Larry) of Ashland, NE and Ruth Stewart (Guy) of Fairbury, NE; his grandchildren, Angie Roderique (John), Chad Ferguson, Sara Boudty, Ashley Bell (Chris) and Landon Stewart (Danni); his great grandchildren, Alecia Zauha, Evan Roderique, Madalyn, Isabelle Boudty, Cole, Reese Ferguson, Celia, Vaughn Bell, Skye Stewart and Ellie Stewart; and his sisters-in-law, Joann Lichtenberger and Martha Harris.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rex can be made to the Fairbury Cemetery or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
