He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Mason and Lavida Mason (Frenzen); his wife Mary Lou Mason; and his siblings, Larry Mason, Bobby Mason and Donna Weller.

He is survived by : his pet Bella; his daughter Kelly Zarek (Dennis) of Fullerton; his grandchildren, Sarah Zarek (Mark Peterson) of Norfolk, Benjamin Zarek (Nicole) of Columbus, Jonathan Zarek (Debra) of Genoa and Kevin Zarek (Lora Lighter) of Fullerton; and his sister-in-law Joyce Mason-Newquist (Lyle) of Fullerton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
