It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Cates (Giltner, Nebraska), born in Cushing, Oklahoma, who passed away on August 31, 2017, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Carlos "C. W."; his spouse Jean Louise Robertshaw; his father-in-law William Robershaw; and his brothers-in-law, Barry Robertshaw and Jack Robertshaw.
He is survived by: his sons, Les Cates of Giltner, Ammie Holtzen of Giltner and Rex Cates (Kerry) of Giltner; his grandchildren, Brittney Bills (Glenn), John Cates, Colin Cates (Maggie), Jessica Janzen (Jordan) and Trevor Cates; his great grandchildren, Kyndall Cates, Adeline Cates, Weston Janzen and Liam Bills; his sisters, Neva Jane Chatterson (Bill) of Greeley, Vera Harrall (Mike) of Park Hill and Nancy Detwiler of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; his siblings-in-law, Jerry Robertshaw (Mary Jane) of Giltner, Tom Robertshaw of Giltner, Paula Omel of Giltner, Peggy Bell (Patrick) of Giltner, Jeanne Robertshaw of Aurora and Christina Robertshaw of Aurora; and his mother-in-law Norma Robertshaw of Giltner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
