She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Nitsch and Freida Nitsch (Becker); her husband John F. Kruse; her brother Eugene Nitsch; her niece Tonya Nitsch; and her siblings-in-law, Harold Franssen, Lucille, Gordon Sinner, Erma, Leo Wissing, Vera Kelly and Bob Long.
She is survived by: her children, Colleen J. Lewis of Spencer, Iowa and Daniel J.; her daughter-in-law Donna Kruse of Grand Island; her grandchildren, Nick, Bri Lewis of Muscatine, Iowa, Kaitlin, Neill Hahn and Cole Kruse of Grand Island; her sister LaVera Mae Franssen of Spearfish; her sisters-in-law, Joyce Nitsch of Boelus and Phyllis Long of Grand Island; and also Tristan of Cimarron.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Messiah Lutheran Church (122 W 7th St, Grand Island, NE 68801). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery (3826 W Stolley Park Rd, Grand Island, NE 68803).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
