He was predeceased by : his father Ron Sr.; and his grandparents, Lawson Bird, Laverne Bird, Robert Corum and Cleo Corum.

He is survived by : his mother Linda McFarland of Crete; his stepfather Tom McFarland of Crete; his sister Melissa Howard of Utica; his children, Jennifer Flynn of Lincoln, Justin Polfus of McCook and Trista Corum of Greenwood; his stepchildren, Amber Bartak of Michigan, Krystell Bartak of Plattsmouth and Brandon Bartak of Lincoln; and also Steve Donahue of Utica.
