He was predeceased by : his parents, Joel Schmidt and Helen Schmidt (Goertz); his wife Darlene M. Meierhenry; and his siblings, Vernon, Velma, Eldon and Edward.
He is survived by : his sisters-in-law, Patricia of Lincoln, NE and Waltrout of Waldheim, Saskatchewan.. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren (with 6 spouses) and 7 great-grandchildren.
