She was predeceased by : her daughter Debra Sue; her husband Lyle H. Johnston; her brother Robert Bonner, Jr.; her aunt Jean Bonner; and her siblings-in-law, Lois Martin, Jean Ann Jakob, Faye Maaske, Glenna Johnston and Neil Johnston.

She is survived by : her sons, Marc Johnston of Holdrege and Robert Johnston (Tori) of Holdrege; her stepson Kerry Peters (Debra) of North Platte, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Josh Johnston (Cheyenne Brittni) of Holdrege, Mikell Johnston of Kearney, Blake Johnston (Riquelle) of Holdrege, Stephan Johnston of Kearney, Dallen Johnston of Holdrege, Anastazia Hickman (Boomer) of Oxford, Caleb Johnston (Jailyn Scheel) of Holdrege and Tyler Johnston (Jenica) of Omaha; her brother Greg Bonner of Kearney; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Bonner of Hastings, Nebraska, Marti Bonner of Lincoln, Nebraska, Raye Johnston (Betty) of Loomis, Nebraska and Darrel Maaske (Jan) of Kearney, Nebraska. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Bonnie's honor, and kindly suggested to the family.
