He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Thompson; his sons, Brad Kennedy (Tammy) and Bryan Kennedy (Stacey); his grandchildren, Lakeisha Kennedy, Kierstin Kennedy and Bret Kennedy (Breanna); and his great grandchildren, Carter Kennedy and Cameron Kennedy.

“I was hired in Lincoln Fire Dept. August 22, 1990. I did my probation at St. 7 A shift then was a body with a pulse filling in at Station openings. I believe I floated in at St. 12 A shift & met Capt. Hal, think Ivan Biggs was FAO. Hal had great nature, kind & friendly but get old timers talking about past crooked events in the Lincoln business, filled me in evenmore than John Schmidt! A cousin from IBM confirmed IBM wanted to come to Lincoln, but was told, look else ware, nature welcomes you!”
