She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Oscar Thaden and Esther Emma Thaden (Osborn); her nephew Gary Dale Pugh; and her sister Barbara Pugh (Dell) of Nebraska. She is survived by: her spouse Warren Ray DeBoer; her sons, Titus Del DeBoer and Silas Aaron DeBoer; her daughter-in-law Carrie Jeanne Miller-DeBoer; her grandsons, Levi, Audric and Torin; her siblings, Kent Thaden (Dorcas) of Nebraska, Ron Thaden (Karen) of Colorado and Don Thaden (Wanda) of Texas; her siblings' children, Brandon Thaden Ph (Ingrid Jordon), Brooke Thaden-Koch (Tom), Brent Thaden of Nebraska, Brian Thaden of Oregon, Brie Pirkle (Adam) of Oregon, Lonnie Thaden (Moana) of Colorado, Landon Thaden (Tawnya) of Colorado, Julie Thaden of Colorado, Donna Land-Jump of Texas, Tina-Marie Bowman of Texas, Annette Lea Davis of Texas and Allen Keith Bowman of Texas; and her uncle Gene Osborn (Mary) of Nebraska. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
Kay worked long hours during donation drives and holidays, and even worked second and third jobs on the weekends at a grocery store and gas station to provide for herself and her two sons when finances grew tight in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
