He was predeceased by: his parents, Mervin Carstens Sr. and Maree Carstens. He is survived by: his wife Carol Carstens; his children, Debra Parker, Michael Carstens (Judy) and Lori Carstens; his stepchildren, Janet Behrends (Al) and Steven Mielke; his sister Dellene Miller-Zimmer; and his grandchildren, Andrea Koberstein (Gary), Ryan Parker (Jaye), Sara Carstens, Sean Parker (Danielle), Matthew Carstens (Christina), Ashlee Carstens, Katelyn Diers (Anthony), Brandon Mielke and Mikaela Carstens. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
