He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Raymond and Betty Valeria Lyon (Hetrick); his wife Marilyn Ann Schwartz; his son Gary; his grandson Corey Lyon; and his brothers, Leroy Lyon, Bruce Lyon, Larry Lyon and Roger Lyon.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Lyon (Katrina Grabbe) of Omaha, Julie Grimm (Dave) of Fremont and Janie Lyon of Homer; and his siblings, David Lyon (Linda) of Sequim, WA, Don Lyon (Gloria Gersdorf) of Des Moines, IA, Patricia Lyon of Los Angeles, CA and Ramona Enstrom of Dubuque, IA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
