He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur McDermott and Lena McDermott (Jacobi). He is survived by: his wife Marlene McDermott of Madison, NE; and his nephews, John L. McDermott (Wendy) of Leavenworth, KS, Ronald J. McDermott (Sue) of Omaha, NE and Tom A. McDermott (Tina).

Memorials may be directed to St. Francis Church or Creston Rescue Squad.
