He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Fred Bals and Alma Bals (Kloke); his children, Gail Johnson (Bob) of Osceola and Debbie Murphy (Steven) of Bellwood; his son-in-law Duane Zessin of Madison; and his sister Mary Ann Byfield of Omaha. He was also cherished by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
