He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Petersen and Kitty Petersen (Buhl); his son Kirk Petersen; and his siblings, Henry B. Petersen and Kay Larson.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Petersen; his children, Roxanne and Craig (Teri); his grandchildren, Alex, Noelle Drake (Julian), Miranda and Gwynn; and his sibling's children, Carolyn, Carl and Jeannie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home (5200 R St, Lincoln, NE 68504).
