He is survived by: his daughter Susan Yates of Yakima, WA; his grandchildren, Amy Johnson (Todd) of Yakima, WA, Ryan Traphagan of Las Vegas, NV and Lindsey Cowie (Glen) of Melbourne, Australia; his daughter-in-law Mary Gould Traphagan of Chadron, NE; and his great grandchildren, Ashlen Johnson, Iris Cowie, Trent Johnson and Liam Cowie.
