He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Velma McArthur (Smelker) of Haigler, NE; his wife Paula Jean McArthur (Jones) of McCook; his father John Dean McArthur; his children, Angela McArthur of Houston, TX, John McArthur III (Lori) of Kearney, NE, Jeffrey McArthur (Barbara) of Cambridge, NE, Denise McArthur of Houston, TX, Amanda McArthur of Lincoln, NE and Rebecca Bauer (Jacob) of Lincoln, NE; his siblings, Leila Barrett of Benkelman, NE, Meryl McArthur of North Platte, NE, Linda Wiltse of Grand Junction, CO, Terry McArthur (Ella) of Wray, CO and Lonny McArthur of Wray, CO; his grandchildren, Allison (Michael), Marcus, Avery, Tatum, Kora, Ethan, Zachery, Olivia, Kamryn, Aidan, Emily, Cloe, Ava, Kayden, Jaxson and Briella; and his great grandchildren, Avianna and Tavian. He was also cherished by numerous nephews, nieces and extended family.
He was a great cook and catered many fundraising and charity events in the area.
