She was predeceased by: her parents, Retta Elliott (Springer) and Glen Foreman; her stepfather Glenn Elliott; her siblings, Eleanor Ganz of Lincoln, NE and Glenn William Elliott of Santa Barbara, CA; and her great grandchild Caitlin Pietro of Murrieta, CA..

She is survived by: her spouse Thomas D. Buffington; her grandmother Fannie Mae Springer; her daughter Anne Hippe (Robert) of Gering; her grandchildren, Eric Thacker (Gail) of Richland, NE, Bryce Thacker (Brandi) of Burlington, CO, Kim Mendez of Bayard, NE, Debbie Pietro of Murrieta, CA, Rob Hippe of Lincoln, NE and Jenney Hippe of Simi Valley, CA; and her sisters, Clela Duemler (John) of Madison, WI and Donna Swaim (Bob) of Tucson, AZ.. She is also survived by Fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mitchell United Methodist Church or to Scotts Bluff County Head Start.
