He was predeceased by : his parents, Louise E. Birdwell (Gibson) and Charles Birdwell; his son Vince Edward Birdwell; and his brothers, Jimmy, Bobby and Jerry Birdwell.

He is survived by : his wife Bonnie Birdwell of Murray, NE; his children, Greg Birdwell (Christina) of Dallas, TX and Anita Huebner (David) of Billings, MT; and his grandchildren, Sullivan Huebner, Ellianna Birdwell, Olivia Birdwell and Grant Huebner. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
