He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo J. Fassbender and Bertha Clara Fassbender (Koeppel); and his friends, Jim Easter and Leroy Baier.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Emerald Nursing Home (5505 Grover St, Omaha, NE 68106). Viewing was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (218 N 6th St, Nebraska City, NE 68410). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Mary's Cemetery (1900 N 19th St, Nebraska City, NE 68410).
