With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roberta Elizabeth Jane Gigstad of Nebraska City, Nebraska, born in Garnett, Kansas, who passed away on January 2, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Heyn and Opal Heyn (Abernathy); her husband Alfred O. Gigstad; her brother Bobby Heyn; her parents-in-law, Alfred and Irene Gigstad; her siblings-in-law, Orville Evans, Dale Gigstad and Patricia Gigstad; and her son-in-law Bill Goff.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. A. O. Gigstad III (Carolyn) of Syracuse, NE, Bobb Gigstad (Marti) of Garnett, KS, Cheryl Goff of Nebraska City, NE and Dr Jimm Gigstad (Tammie) of Nebraska City, NE; her grandchildren, Grady Gigstad (Sarah), Opal Madsen (Scott), Chris Gigstad, Amber Gigstad, RJ Spidell, Micheal Gigstad and Anna Gigstad; her great grandchildren, Kyson Spidell, Quincy Gigstad, Keylan Spidell, Amelia Gigstad, Kazyn Spidell, Patrick Gigstad, Cooper Gigstad, Parker Spidell, Addy Roberta Madsen and Lawson Spidell; and her sister-in-law Joanne Evans of Bethany, OK. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Otoe County 4H Council or First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
