She was predeceased by: her husband John D. Tate; her son John R. Tate; and her siblings, Lucille Grimes, Joy Rodger, Dolly Warren and Tommie Carter.
She is survived by: her sister Edna Baker of Memphis; her son Lee Tate of Omaha; and her friend Phyllis Falany. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
