He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Owen Tyler and Frank Stiles Owen; his wife Jane Margaret Owen; and his grandchildren, Clare Owen, Lily Owen and Henry Nihsen.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean "Jeanie" Owen; his children, Donald Robert "Rob" Owen (Erin), Laurie Sue Owen and Dustin Edward Nihsen (Sarah); his sisters, Lynne Owen of Omaha and Judith Chamberlain of Falls Church, VA; his grandchildren, Bailey, Taylor, William, Azlynn Nihsen and Ava Owen; his father-in-law William Boettger of Shelby, Iowa; and his pet McBurney.
Memorials can be sent to the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation-Alzheimer's Fund or the Methodist Hospital Foundation.
