He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine; his parents, Roland and Marjorie; his brother Richard; and his son Daniel.

He is survived by: his sister Karen Edin (Ralph) of Grand Rapids, MN; and his children, Valerie Saeler (Jason) of Tucson, Bradley Seavey of Lufkin and Pamela Ellinghuysen (Richard) of Omaha. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
