He was predeceased by : his parents, John H. Smith and Catherine Smith (Simonsen); his former life partner Leona (Fredericksen); and his daughter JoAnn Smith. He is survived by : his wife Geraldine Trimble of Pender; his children, John Smith (Chihiro) of Pender, James Smith (Tasha) of Miramar Beach, FL and Jan Roberts (Gregg) of Lincoln, NE; and his siblings, Donna Miller (Bruce) of Las Vegas, NV and Layton Smith (Fawn) of Pender. He is also survived by fifty grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
