He was predeceased by: his father Perry Russell; his stepfather Robert F. Harms; and his mother Betty Jo Palmtag-Harms (Stephenson). He is survived by: his wife Debra Palmtag of Plattsmouth, NE; his stepchildren, Nolan Millar (Alicia) of Bellevue, NE and Meagan O'Donnel (Mark); his stepgrandchildren, Kaden O'Donnel, Shayne O'Donnel and Vincent Millar; and his siblings, Michael Palmtag of Phoenix, AZ, Melinda Salisbury (Pete) of Chantilly, VA, John Palmtag (Janet) of Nebraska City, NE and Mary Palmtag of Nebraska City, NE. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
