He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Coon and Jean Coon (Park); his wife Joy; and his sisters, Doris Coon and Audrey Coon Benedict.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Coon (Mary) of Bayard, Jon Coon (Diane) of Bayard and Judy Taylor (Ray) of Chappell; his grandchildren, Jill Goertzen (Brent), Kelly, Matthew Coon, Becky Herber (Kyle), Madi Simons (Mike) and Alex Coon (Hannah); and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Hanks and Barbara Burleigh. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either The Residency or to Bridgeport Fire and Rescue.
