He is survived by: his children, David (Jerlyn), Steve (Desira), Robert (Sue) and Linda Swartzkopf (Stace); his grandchildren, Eric Roth, Tonia Martin, Vaughn Martin, Jamie Subjeck, Nick Martin, Grant Martin, Chris Porter and Hailey Himes-Reeves; his great grandchildren, Alexis, Collin, Adrian Roth, Ashlyn and Ayden Subjeck; his sister Marge Meier; his sisters-in-law, Carolina, Shirley Martin and Pat Valetski (Eldon); and his friend Alvin Kuxhausen.
A memorial has been established to Legacy of the Plains museum.
