He was predeceased by: his former wife Esther; his siblings, Freda Hiegel (Jake), Mollie Haun (Ed), John Schaaf (Helen), Reuben (Elsie), Jake Schaaf (Jean), Hank Schaaf and Victor (Marian); his sister-in-law Ann Schaaf (Robert); his stepson Chuck Meyer; and also Edward Schaaf (Charlotte).
He is survived by: his children, Michael and Mike; his wife Nadynne; his daughter Jennifer Harms (Jerry) of Minatare; his stepdaughter Kathy Klein (Roger) of Gering; his brother Robert Schaaf of Sidney; his sister-in-law Vivian Schaaf (Hank); his grandchildren, Scott Bernhardt (Renae) of Gering, Janel Marcoe (Mike) of Scottsbluff, Stephanie Gerlek (Clint) of Republic, MO, Christopher Schaaf of Grand Island, NE, Natalie Oberbeck (Thomas) of Clinton, IA and Derek Schaaf of Grand Island, NE; and his stepgrandchildren, Chris Cape (Faith) of Gering, NE. and Phillip Cape (Courtney Bowron) of Gering, NE.. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren with another to be born in November of 2018, four step great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
