He is survived by: his children, Mattie, Jim and Michelle Smith (Reed) of Golden; his grandchildren, Prescott (Leigh), Chelsea Green (Jesse) and Lindsey Sublette (Pierce); his son Darin Spurgeon (Teresa) of Scottsbluff; his grandchildren, Jared, Preston, Alyssa and Brianna; his brother Dennis Spurgeon (Jan) of Gretna; his great grandchildren, Brooks Green, Delaney Green, Knox Sublette and Sebastian Taylor; and his close friend Barb Johndreau.
