He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Darnell, Sr. and Hazel V. Darnell (Ross); his wife Phyllis M. Klepper; his parents-in-law, James and Ella Klepper; and his son-in-law Ron Thompson, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Jim III Darnell (Calleen) of Scottsbluff, Carol Tucker (Ted) of Ashland, NE, Jan Gompert (Russ) of Mitchell, Christy Rickard of Laramie, WY and Debbie Thompson of Aurora, NE; and his sister-in-law Eva Lindsay of Greeley, CO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Memorials may be given in Jim's memory to Harvest Valley Church or the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department.
