He is survived by: his friend Church; his son Dwayne Mays (Vanessa) of Ogallala; his daughter-in-law Marcia Mays of Big Springs, NE; and his grandchildren, Kathy Mays of Greeley, CO, Monty Mays (Jill) of Imperial, NE, Michelle Mays of Stafford, KS, Marci Cain (Andy) of Wellington, KS, Angelena Mays of Big Springs, Justin Mays (Becky) of Indianola, IA, Heather Hughes (Jon) of Noblesville, IN, Whitney Williams of Virginia Beach, VA and Izabel Mays of Ogallala. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to the Western Nebraska Veterans Home in his name.
