He is survived by : his wife Lori Ahlers; his children, Becca Ahlers, Sam Ahlers and Anna Fisher (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Maya and Myles; his brother Greg Ahlers (Kim); his nieces and nephews, Kalena Hendricksen (Jay), Jordan Ahlers and Madeline Weber (Lance); his sister Sheila Ahlers; his mother-in-law Charlene Thelen; and also Lyra Weber.

A rosary was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 4:30 PM at the Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home (1431 W 29th St, South Sioux City, NE 68776). Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A vigil service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church (1405 1st Ave, South Sioux City, NE 68776).

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be given to the Royal Family Kid's Camp.
