He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Wheeler and Elizabeth Phoebe Wheeler (Oakes); his wife Barbara Carr; his siblings, Stanley L Wheeler (Shelley Lentz Wheeler) and Marian Clare Wheeler; his sons, Michael Wheeler (Michelle), Chris Wheeler (Trisha) and Scott Wheeler; his stepchildren, Heidi Williams, Jason Boyer (Lucy) and Jessica Boyer (Brian Becher); his nephews, Darrell Wheeler Erik Wheeler (Janet Rosado) and Isaac Wheeler; his grandchildren, Michaela Wheeler, Emily Wheeler and Charlie Wheeler; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Amber Rosado, Dylan Wheeler, Lexi Wheeler and Paige Wheeler; and his stepgrandchildren, James Howe, Victoria Grabowski, Jack Boyer and Nina Boyer.
