With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Velma Hughes (Exeter, New Hampshire), born in Balsam, North Carolina, who passed away on March 19, 2019 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Crisp and Lucy Crisp; and her children, Cleo Gentry, Earl Gentry, Curtis Gentry, Linda Swasey, Jackie Doyle and Kathy Gentry.
She is survived by: her friend Natalie; her brothers, Thomas Vincent Crisp and Vaughan Crisp; her grandchildren, Donna Van Horn, Debra Baxter, Kim Gentry, Kevin Gentry, Eileen Gentry, Gene Gentry, Dianne Gentry, Micheal Parker, Michelle Bailey, Mitchell Parker, Kyle Gentry and Tracy Brown; her sons-in-law, Stephen Doyle, Lou Parker and Dick "Richard" Swasey; and her siblings, Frank Crisp, Woodroe Crisp, Valerie "Bernice" Crisp, Vernalee Crisp, Verlon Crisp, Vernon Crisp, Viola Betty Crisp and V. C. Crisp (Lloyd Tracer). She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
