He was predeceased by: his parents, Malachi Joseph Hanley (Mal) and Virginia Hanley (Cavanaugh); his wife Mary Louise Hanley (Mulkern); his brothers, Joseph and Paul; and his brother-in-law John Carmichael.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Olsen (Douglas) of Dedham, MA, Susan M. Hanley of Hyde Park, MA, Marilou Russell of Seabrook, NH and John P. Hanley, Jr. (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Douglas Olsen, Jr., Daniel Olsen (Lara), Lisa, Nicole Olsen, Marianne Russell, Kevin J. P. Hanley, Katie Hanley and John "Jake" P. Hanley, III; his great grandchildren, Alora, Scarlett and Fiona Olsen; his siblings, Matthew Hanley, Peter Hanley (Christine), Kevin Hanley, Christopher Hanley, Theresa Shea (Joseph), Marie Carmichael, Kathleen Billotta (Herbie) and Margaret Parquette (Greg); and his sister-in-law Yvonne Hanley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer.
