She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Robert Hersey and Jean Hersey of Spuyten Duyvel; her husband John Asa Shimer (Jack); her brothers, Robert Hersey (Susan) and Tim Hersey (Jean); her son Jesse Carr (Kathy Mazziott); her grandson Galen Carr (Jennifer Allaire); her great grandchildren, Miles and Zoe Carr; her son Jeffrey Carr (Shari); and her grandson Zachary.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcome to the Upper Valley Waldorf School in Hartford, Vermont.
