He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Theron Dusen and Elizabeth Mock Van Dusen; his wife Polly Ward Spaulding; his siblings, Charles Van Dusen, Ellen Van Dusen Guthrie and Katherine Van Dusen Sylvester; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Van Dusen, Perkie Van Dusen and E. Q. Sylvester. He was also cherished by six grandchildren.
