He was loved and cherished by many people including : his fathers, Walter Barton Leach and Edward Sturgis of Boston; his former life partners, Evlyn Bardeen and Cornelia McElroy; his wife Nell; and his children, Elizabeth Bert, Malcolm Leach, Virginia Townsend, Nathaniel Leach, Tim Wheelock and Coco Birmingham. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice or Camp Coniston.
