He was predeceased by: his parents, Johann Mahler and Hulda; and his siblings, Ewald, Gottlob, Ingrid and Adelina.
He is survived by: his wife Elfriede Mahler (Kaldun); his children, Willibald "Bill" Mahler, Monika McGillicuddy (Joseph "Jay") and Heidi Waldron (Gerald); his grandchildren, Martin Gosselin (Angela Santos), Michael Gosselin (Dina), Karissa Brunetti (Dino), Kayla McMahon (Christopher), Kaitlin Knapp (Trevis), Justin McGillicuddy (Tamara Hill), Kason, Paige, Aria, Christopher Jr. and August; and his siblings, Lukas Mahler, Lorie Horton, Erika Groezinger, Anneliese Forster, Irma Nelson, Elfriede Kaufmann and Almide Phillips. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
