He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Cecilia Shaffer; his children, Cecilia Coller (Mike), Vicky Patchus (Mike), Patti Smith (James) and Earl D. "Butch" Shaffer, III (Michelle); and his sister Sandra Leavey (Walt). He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
